Fares for adults (19-64 years old)

The bus operator does not carry change. The exact fare is required when boarding.

  • $2 one-way cash fare
  • $12 for a 3 day bus pass

Rides are unlimited for 3 consecutive days starting on the first day the card is swiped.

  • $20 for a 7-day bus pass
  • Rides are unlimited for 7 consecutive days beginning on the day the card is swiped.
  • $20 for a 10-ride bus pass
  • The offer expires after the 10th ride.
  • $5 for an all-day pass
  • On BCT fixed routes, unlimited rides are available for purchase on the bus.
  • $70 for a 31-day adult bus pass
  • The card is valid for 31 consecutive days starting on the day it is swiped.
  • The one-way cash fare for Premium Express is $2.65
  • $26.50 for a Premium Express 10 Ride Bus Pass
  • A 31-day Premium Express Bus Pass costs $95

Bus passes cannot be exchanged, refunded, or transferred. Damaged cards are invalid. BCT will not replace lost, stolen, or damaged cards.

Fares for seniors (65 and older)

The Medicare or Disability Fares (proof of disability required)

  • The one-way cash fare has been reduced by $1
  • There is a $4 reduction on the all-day bus pass
  • $40 off a 31-day bus pass
  • The Premium Express One-Way Cash Fare has been reduced by $1.30
  • Senior fares require proof of age.

In order to receive a BCT Disabled Reduced Fare Photo I.D. Card, you must present proof of disability such as a Medicare card or an up-to-date letter from a doctor (on their official letterhead) that indicates 50% or greater permanent disability, or an Award Letter from the Social Security Administration with the wording “disabled individual”. Additionally, valid government issued photo identification is required; original documents only, copies will not be accepted.

BCT does not exchange, refund or transfer bus passes. Damaged cards are not valid. Lost, stolen or damaged cards will not be replaced.

Fares for youth (18 and under)

  • The one-way cash fare has been reduced by $1
  • The all-day bus pass has been reduced by $4
  • The 31-day bus pass has been reduced by $40
  • The one-way cash fare for Premium Express has been reduced by $1.30

A youth fare requires proof of age.

Passes for college Students

$50 for a 31-day college bus pass

In order to obtain this pass, a valid college I.D. or copy of the student’s class schedule, along with a photo I.D., are both mandatory. This type of bus pass can be purchased exclusively at the Broward County Main Library (MN), North Regional/BC Library (NR), South Regional/BC Library (SR), Miramar Library (MI), Northwest Regional Library (NO), Tamarac Branch Library (TA), Alvin Sherman Library located at Nova Southeastern University, certain college campuses, and at the Broward Central Terminal, Lauderhill Transit Center and Northeast Transit Center.

Bus passes cannot be exchanged, refunded, or transferred. Damaged cards are invalid. Lost, stolen, or damaged cards cannot be replaced by BCT.

Photo I.D. Card Program for Reduced Fares

Reduced Fare Photo I.D. Card photos are taken at the Broward Central Terminal, Broward Blvd. and Northwest 1st Ave., in downtown Fort Lauderdale, as well as at the Lauderhill Transit Center, 1359 NW 40th Ave. in front of the Lauderhill Mall.

The Customer Service Center is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9AM to 4PM. We close for lunch between 12:30 and 1:30PM.

Effective 7/10/11 - Transfer Policy

Transfers between regular BCT buses and BCT Express buses

If you are transferring from a regular BCT route to an Express bus route, you must pay a $1.00 upgrade fee. If you possess a Premium bus pass, you do not have to pay a $1.00 upgrade fee. Those who pay cash on a regular BCT bus route will not be able to transfer to an Express bus without paying the full premium fare on the Express bus. When boarding Express buses, passengers with an All-Day bus pass must pay an upgrade fee of $1.00.

Customers with Premium Bus Passes

BCT's 31-Day Premium Bus Pass is valid on all regular bus routes.

BCT transfers to other South Florida transit systems

Upon boarding a BCT bus, passengers pay the appropriate BCT fare and may request a transfer from the bus operator if transferring to Miami-Dade Transit (MDT), Palm Tran, or Tri-Rail.

Transfers from other South Florida transit systems to BCT

When transferring from MDT, Palm Tran and Tri-Rail to BCT regular fixed-route bus service, passengers pay $.50 with a transfer issued by MDT or Palm Tran and proof of fare payment such as an Easy Card and a Tri-Rail receipt. If a Tri-Rail passenger boarded BCT at a location other than a Tri-Rail station, he or she will be required to pay the full fare.

Service transfers between other South Florida Transit Systems and BCT Premium Express

For transfers from Premium Express Service to MDT or Tri-Rail, a transfer is issued and the passenger must pay the appropriate fare. A $.50 transfer fee is required with the appropriate transfer from MDT or Tri-Rail to Premium Express Service. Premium Express Service does not connect with Palm Tran. MDT and Tri-Rail Easy Cards are not accepted as payment on BCT buses.

Policy for upgrading

BCT Local to BCT Express: $1 upgrade applicable to all BCT passes: All Day, 3 Day, 7 Day, 10 Ride, Adult 31 Day Regular, Adult 31 Day Senior, Disabled/Medicare, Youth and College Student Passes.
